Who We Are
A Legacy of Loyalty and Love
Some journeys are written long before we realize we are walking them.
Mine began in 2009, when my parents gifted me my first Labradoodle, Max. He quickly became my heart dog — my guide through darkness, my partner through challenges, and ultimately, my lifeline as my vision faded. Max wasn’t just my guide dog and service dog; he was the bridge between what I lost and what I could still achieve.
As Max grew older, I knew I had to find another companion — one who could carry on his work and spirit. That search led me to the incredible world of Australian Labradoodles, dogs whose loyalty, intelligence, and adaptability mirrored everything Max embodied.
Years later, through a remarkable twist of fate, I discovered a litter sired by one of Max’s brothers. When I visited, a black puppy with soulful eyes ran to me without hesitation, sat at my feet, and looked up at me — just as Max once had. That puppy was Bodhi.
In that moment, I knew: our story wasn’t ending. It was beginning again.

A Little About Me
I’m Korrine — a lifelong dog lover, service dog handler, and breeder with a passion for purpose-driven canine companionship. Through Cardinal’s Crossing, I’ve combined personal experience, professional insight, and a deep love for Labradoodles into a program rooted in intention, compassion, and connection.
I’ve always shared a deep connection with animals (and often joke that dogs are better than people). That bond grew into a lifelong passion for understanding canine behavior, health, and the vital roles dogs can play in people’s lives. I pursued this interest in high school by studying Animal Science through my school’s VOAG (Vocational Agriculture) program, where I first dreamed of working with service dogs.
That dream became reality with Max, my first guide and service dog. His loyalty and intelligence changed my life, and so did Bodhi. Their impact inspired me to help others experience that same life-changing connection. With the guidance of reputable breeders, I gained hands-on experience in temperament testing, training, social media management, and client support. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, assisted families in choosing their first dogs, and led public demonstrations to educate others about service dogs, the differences between service, therapy, and emotional support animals, and the importance of accessibility.
Today, I’m a college student majoring in Disability Studies. I live with legal blindness and various chronic medical conditions, which gives me a deeply personal understanding of the transformative power of purpose-bred dogs. Through Cardinal’s Crossing, I strive to raise dogs who are more than companions — they are capable, intuitive partners who offer connection, comfort, independence, freedom, and support.
This program reflects my heart, my purpose, and my promise to honor Max’s legacy. It’s rooted in compassion, guided by intention, and shaped by a lifelong commitment to the Australian Labradoodle breed.
